Zubin Emsley, Chief Executive Officer
Zubin Emsley joined ChartLogic in early 2007. As CEO, Zubin is responsible for setting the company’s strategic direction and leading its growth as an EHR provider.
Over a 27-year period, Zubin held management positions at Ball Aerospace in Colorado and led the company to profitable new technology and business management areas. He was responsible for multi-million-dollar projects to build and operate research satellites for NASA as well as an international company. Before Ball Aerospace, Zubin worked at Boeing in Seattle for 11 years. He was responsible for system software development for the Hubble Space Telescope and interplanetary probes. Zubin has also served on the ChartLogic Board of Directors for several years.
Zubin has a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Delaware and master’s degree in engineering from Cornell University.
Brad Melis, Founder
Brad Melis founded ChartLogic in 1994. Since then, he has served as president and chief executive officer and has been responsible for all operational areas of the company. He is the chief architect of ChartLogic and possesses extensive experience in the health information technology sector, bringing over 25 years of healthcare experience to ChartLogic.
Prior to creating ChartLogic, Brad served as the sales and marketing manager for ODIN Engineering for three years. He was instrumental in developing the strategic sales and marketing plans for the ODIN product, which developed an early entry into the EMR marketplace. He spent the prior seven years as president and chief executive officer of ProData Systems, a medical software firm involved in the development, sales, and support of physician office billing, scheduling, and electronic claims processing software. Over several years, Brad grew ProData from an early-stage medical software company into a firm that ultimately serviced 150-plus installations of the product.
Brad holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Rita Schaefer, Chief Financial Officer
Rita Schaefer joined the ChartLogic team in September 2000. She is responsible for ChartLogic financial and planning strategy and oversees all accounting practices.
Rita’s career is comprised of 18 years in the healthcare industry, working both for HIT companies and directly with physicians practicing medicine. Prior to joining ChartLogic, Rita served as controller for three successful, Utah-based corporations. With her consulting business, she managed physician practices where she developed and implemented an office-site accounting and financial management solution for sole-physician providers and large-clinic practices.
Chris Langehaug, Senior Vice President of Operations
As senior vice president of operations, Chris Langehaug oversees all support, implementation and training, installations, client productivity, product development, and IT. He has designed, implemented, and continues to improve ChartLogic products, implementation, and customer service procedures and has maintained one of the highest adoption and retention rates in the industry. With over 20 years in operations and service positions and having implemented over 100 separate medical practices, Chris brings valuable expertise to ChartLogic that ensures world-class service and products to all customers.
Prior to joining the ChartLogic team, Chris served eight years as a US army ranger and jungle warfare instructor, and he also served in the Special Forces, planning and executing missions worldwide. Chris is also a master scuba instructor. He teaches recreational and technical diving, including closed circuit rebreathers.
Bob Dean, Vice President of Technology
Bob Dean joined ChartLogic in November 2004. As vice president of technology, Bob oversees IT services provided to clients and is responsible for launching ChartLogic into the Software-as-a-Service realm.
Bob has over 25 years of experience in the information technology industry. He has designed and implemented some of the largest and most robust network infrastructures in the world. He has over 35 industry certifications with a specialty in redundant systems and network infrastructures. He has also received numerous industry awards for excellence and achievement including network and datacenter design. Before ChartLogic, Bob worked for numerous companies as a consultant, engineer, and director.
Bob has degrees in electronic technology, microcomputer technology, and business management.
Darren Gibson, Vice President of Sales
Darren Gibson joined the ChartLogic team in 2001, when he established the ChartLogic consultative team selling model. He is responsible for growing the demand and increasing sales for the ChartLogic product lines and brings with him over 25 years of successful sales and sales management experience.
Darren’s previous sales management experience consists of positions at technology and medical service firms such as Quest Diagnostics, Inc., Asante Tecnologies, Connectronix Corporation, AMX International, and Racore Technologies. He has also owned several successful companies including the largest insurance agency in Northern Utah and a nationwide website development company.
