Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
Electronic medical records software, also commonly called Electronic Health Records (EHR), is used to create and store the comprehensive documentation required for patient medical health records in any medical practice. An EMR system will store the patient's demographics, medications, allergies, encounter notes, labs, imaging, and other clinical data that was previously stored in the patient's paper chart.
The benefits of an electronic medical records system are the elimination of paper charts, the cost associated with those charts, and increased efficiency around accessing those charts electronically. Most EMRs offer savings, through the reduction of annual transcription services, by including an electronic charting function.

Practice Management (PM)
Medical practice management systems typically include electronic appointment schedulers, patient registration and demographics management, and medical billing software and collection modules.
The benefits of a PM system are reduced days in A/R, increased reimbursement, and reduction of cost due to staff productivity increases. Most medical practices adhere to billing requirements from insurance carriers and patients, and good medical practice management software can simplify these processes.

Document Management (DM)
ChartLogic PaperLess Office is an entry-level EMR system which will allow a practice to realize the benefits of a paperless office. Documents can be scanned, imported, or captured electronically, saving the clinic the cost of managing paper charts.
The benefits of a PaperLess solution are the same as an EMR: elimination of paper charts, the cost associated with those charts, and increased efficiency around accessing those charts electronically.
ChartLogic PaperLess Office is a great alternative to a full EMR for the practice that isn't quite ready to invest in a full EMR system.
Additionally, when the practice is ready to upgrade to a full EMR, ChartLogic PaperLess Office will seamlessly upgrade to a full EMR solution.
