ARRA - The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, also known as the HITECH Act, the Stimulus Package, or the Recovery Act, was signed by President Obama in February 2009. This creates a stimulus incentive for medical providers to adopt electronic health records. In order to obtain the incentive, eligible physicians and hospitals must demonstrate "meaningful use" of a certified EHR.
